By facilitating 2-way communication. We identified a gap in the market for user-friendly technology for people with reduced mobility and cognitive impairment. This stemmed from the fact that when looking at medication delivery, activity reporting, or event reminder input into the software, they couldn’t perform it due to the lack of fine and gross motor skills.

Our solution allows people to live independently in their homes for longer. Amethyst Care checks in on people throughout the day to see how they are feeling and can notify caregivers if it thinks something is wrong.

The Team: Rebecca McManus Founder & CEO My background is commercial enterprise . I have worked in tech sales for the last 8 years for a number of different tech companies such as Citrix, Pluralsight and FlowForma. I have also been a caregiver to both parents at different stages of life. My father now has advanced Parkinson’s and Lewy-body’s dementia. He’s only 66 and in a nursing home.

Darragh Blake CTO Darragh has a background in technology research, having worked in Trinity College Dublin for 6 years as a research computer scientist, he’s worked on many innovative projects in this space. CTO Child paths. Darragh has a passion for using innovation to help solve problems for those living with cognitive impairments. Darragh also manages the application security and technology vision.

Gavin O’ Duffy – Chairman of the Board Gavin O’Duffy has spent the last 10 years with Amazon, both in Silicon Valley and in Europe. Gavin was hired originally to develop and manage Amazon’s technical partnerships with a global tier 1 wireless carrier for tablets, e-readers, and smartphones.

Was selected to be a founding member of the Alexa Voice Service technical team. Jerome O’Flaherty – Chief Architect Jerome has been working as a tech product manager and Solutions Architect since 2010. Owner at Sweeper.

Jerome joined Amethyst in December 2021 and is responsible for selecting and integrating the Company’s software, hardware, and IT infrastructure. Jerome has a passion for helping people. Riona Cunningham Account Director Riona has 20 years of experience in the technology space.

Her passion is inventing new and more profitable ways to generate extra revenue and business ideas from customer queries and internal conversations. We worked together in Pluralsight. She has a passion for helping people with cognitive illnesses. Our solution is a voice technology companion that works with an Alexa device.

It checks in with the patient throughout the day to make sure they have taken their medications on time. It checks in to see how they are feeling at random times throughout the day. The caregiver will be notified if the patient is unwell or unresponsive throughout the day. It also has a memory quiz.

Expectations:

  • A collaboration with a partner, who has a good understanding of the rehabilitation space. Our solution is currently used for elderly people living alone and those with dementia. Support regarding the rehabilitation side would be really useful so we can implement this into our product development.

Freddie Med provides simple, affordable, and easily accessible web apps to help medical professionals launch and run healthcare services globally. The system has three access portals. The professional portal is used to manage the entire clinical workflow. It includes scheduling, patient records, referrals, prescriptions, video technology, billing, payments in 135+ currencies, and more.

The patient portal is multilingual and provides access to all clinical documents including prescriptions and referrals as well as online booking, payment details, access control, and dependent accounts. The dispensation portal allows pharmacists to access prescriptions and register dispensation.

The system is optimized for telemedicine. It deploys cloud-based datacentres, international interoperability standards, and APIs.

Expectations:

  • Freddie Med are looking for an overall manager for the tender. All technical documentation is available and the existing technology covers about 60% of the Platform and Development Layer requirements for this project.
